First of all – I’m really liking Scrivener. I haven’t worked it all out yet but love the way I can store photos and research material inside, can black out all the background and eliminate distractions on the screen and most of all that I can find any element of the book quickly and easily. I wrote A Greater World as one long Word document and it was a nightmare when trying to find sections of the text to check back/ edit/ review – endless scrolling.
I’ve also made a proper start – less than 500 words but at least the spade’s in the ground. And I’ve got little index cards inside the programme with each character on – another boon – with AGW I took so long to write it that I was always forgetting people’s names and spellings – now they’re all there at a click away. Yes so far I’m loving it.
